Accessibility Statement

Hov Law PLLC (“HOV Law,” “we,” or “us”) wants everyone to be able to use www.hov.law, including people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor, cognitive, or other disabilities. Many of the people we represent are living with new injuries, so an accessible website is part of how we serve our clients.

1. Our Standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content easier to use for people with disabilities and are the standard most commonly used to measure website accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

2. What We Have Done

Measures in place on this website include:

a “Skip to main content” link so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the navigation;
full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus indicator on links, buttons, and form fields;
a correct page language on every page (English, and Spanish on our Spanish pages) so screen readers use the right pronunciation;
descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology;
a logical heading structure and page landmarks on each page;
labeled form fields and accessible names for buttons, menus, accordions, and other controls;
text labels on our data charts, plus a table view of the same data for screen reader users;
color contrast checked against WCAG AA requirements; and
respect for your device's “reduce motion” setting, which turns off non-essential animation.

We check new pages, articles, and free legal tools for accessibility as we add them, and we re-review the site as it changes.

3. Known Limitations and Third-Party Content

Accessibility is ongoing work, and some parts of the site may not yet fully meet our standard. Some content comes from third parties we do not control, including embedded Google Maps, embedded videos, the live chat widget, and outside websites we link to (such as Google reviews, government crash report portals, and court websites). We choose providers that support accessibility where we can, but we cannot guarantee their content.

If a third-party feature does not work for you, contact us and we will provide the same information or service another way, such as by phone, email, or in person.

5. Feedback and How We Respond

If you find a barrier on this website, please tell us. It helps to include the page address (URL), what you were trying to do, and the browser and any assistive technology you were using, but none of that is required. Contact info@hov.law or (407) 801-0101.

We aim to respond within two business days and will work with you to provide the information or service you need while we fix the problem.

6. Compatibility

The site is built with standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox) and common assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. It may not work as well with older browsers.
