Terms of Use & Disclaimer

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of www.hov.law, including its articles, free legal tools and calculators, and contact forms (together, the “Site”), and the text messaging program of Hov Law PLLC (“HOV Law,” “HOV LAW,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Site or opting in to text messages, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

We want the Site to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. If you have trouble accessing any page or feature, call us at (407) 801-0101 or email info@hov.law and we will help.

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted, and the “Last updated” date above shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, that part will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in effect.

1. SMS / Text Messaging Terms

  • Program: HOV LAW text messages. When you check the consent box on one of our forms, you agree to receive text messages (SMS/MMS/RCS) from HOV LAW at the phone number you provided for timely customer care, marketing, and account notifications — for example, replies to your inquiry, appointment and case updates, document requests, and information about our services.
  • Consent is optional: Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of hiring us or of receiving a free consultation. You can reach us by phone or email instead.
  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your inquiry or case.
  • Costs: Message and data rates apply according to your mobile plan. HOV LAW does not charge for text messages.
  • Opt out: Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving messages. You will receive one confirmation message and no further texts unless you opt in again. You can also opt out by calling (407) 801-0101 or emailing info@hov.law.
  • Help: Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us at (407) 801-0101 or info@hov.law.
  • Carriers: Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Privacy: We do not sell or share your mobile number or text messaging opt-in data and consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy.

2. Calls, Emails, and Other Communications

Calls with our office may be recorded or transcribed for quality and accuracy. If you give us a phone number or email address, you confirm that it belongs to you or that you are authorized to use it, and you agree that we may contact you there about your inquiry. We send marketing text messages only to people who have opted in under Section 1.

3. Information Only — Not Legal or Medical Advice

Everything on the Site is general information for educational purposes. It is not legal advice, it may not reflect the most recent changes in the law, and it is not an offer to represent you. Laws differ by state and every case turns on its own facts, so please do not act, or decide not to act, based on the Site alone. Talk to a lawyer you have hired about your situation.

Many of our pages discuss injuries, treatment, and deadlines such as Florida's 14-day PIP rule. None of it is medical advice. Always follow the advice of your own doctor, and never delay or skip medical care because of something you read on the Site.

4. Free Legal Tools and Calculators

The Site offers free tools such as our diminished value, PIP, comparative negligence, and statute of limitations calculators, deadline checkers, and the truck accident evidence preservation letter builder. These tools give general estimates and templates based on the information you enter. They are not an appraisal, a legal opinion, or a guarantee of any result, deadline, or case value. Deadlines in particular can be shorter than a tool shows because of facts it does not ask about. If you send a letter or rely on a result produced by a tool, you do so at your own risk. Contact a lawyer to confirm your deadlines and options.

5. No Attorney-Client Relationship

Visiting the Site, using a tool, submitting a form, or contacting us by phone, email, or text does not make you our client and does not create an attorney-client relationship. That relationship begins only when HOV Law agrees to represent you and you sign a written engagement agreement. Until then, we have not agreed to act on your behalf, and any legal deadline that applies to your claim keeps running.

Please do not send us detailed or sensitive information about your matter before we have spoken with you and agreed to review it. Information you send before we take your case is used to evaluate it and check for conflicts of interest.

6. State Laws Vary and Deadlines Matter

The Site describes rules that apply in Florida and in some other states, but the law is different in every state. Every claim is subject to a statute of limitations, a deadline after which a lawsuit can be barred no matter how strong the case is. In Florida, most negligence claims must be filed within two years. Claims against government agencies often require written notice much sooner, and some insurance policies set their own shorter deadlines. Because finding every responsible party takes time, contact a lawyer as soon as possible after an accident or injury.

7. Licensing, Co-Counsel, and Referrals

The attorneys at HOV Law are licensed in the State of Florida. HOV Law handles personal injury matters nationwide; matters outside Florida are handled in association with appropriately licensed local co-counsel where required and permitted. Michigan matters are handled with Michigan-licensed of-counsel. Criminal defense services are offered only in jurisdictions where the matter can be handled by properly licensed counsel.

We do not handle every type of case. When it would benefit your matter, we may refer you to another law firm or work with another firm as co-counsel, and we may share information about your matter with that firm for that purpose. Any division of fees between firms is made only with your informed, written consent as required by the applicable bar rules.

8. Advertising Disclosures

This Site is attorney advertising. The hiring of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely upon advertisements. Past results, testimonials, and client reviews do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome; every case is different and is judged on its own facts. No representation is made that the quality of our legal services is greater than that of other lawyers, or that any HOV Law attorney is a board-certified specialist unless stated. Some images on the Site may be stock photography or depict people who are not clients.

Personal injury matters are handled on a contingency fee basis: no attorneys' fees are owed unless we obtain a recovery for you. Contingency fees are not set by law and are negotiable, and the terms of any representation are governed by a written agreement. Court-ordered costs or penalties assessed directly against a client may remain the client's responsibility.

Awards and recognitions mentioned on the Site, such as the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and The National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, are determined by the issuing organizations under their own criteria. References to ratings may reflect the firm's Google reviews. Words such as “best,” “top,” or “#1” are marketing language and are not a comparison with other lawyers.

Offices other than our Orlando headquarters are available for meetings by appointment only. Pages about specific cities or states do not mean we have an office there.

9. Responsible Attorney

Where professional rules require a principal office or responsible attorney for this Site, HOV Law designates Serge Hovhanessian, Esq., at 135 W Central Blvd, Suite 1150, Orlando, FL 32801. We work to meet all applicable advertising and ethics rules and welcome comments at info@hov.law.

10. Using the Site

You may view and use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • copy, republish, scrape, or redistribute the Site's content, tools, or design, or frame or mirror the Site;
  • submit false information, information about another person without their permission, or content that is unlawful, threatening, harassing, or defamatory;
  • use the Site or its forms to send spam or unsolicited advertising;
  • try to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, or overload the Site or its systems; or
  • use the Site for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.

We may restrict or block access to the Site for anyone who violates these Terms.

11. Ownership and Copyright

The Site's content, including text, articles, tools, graphics, logos, and the HOV Law name and marks, is owned by or licensed to Hov Law PLLC and protected by copyright and trademark law. Nothing in these Terms gives you any right to use them beyond viewing the Site.

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, send a notice to HOV Law, Attn: Copyright Agent, 135 W Central Blvd, Suite 1150, Orlando, FL 32801, or to info@hov.law. Include a description of the work and the material you believe infringes it, your contact information, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the owner, and your signature.

12. Third-Party Links

The Site links to websites we do not control, such as Google reviews and maps, government crash report portals, and court and agency websites. These links are for your convenience. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices, and a link does not mean we endorse or are affiliated with the linked site.

13. No Warranties

The Site and its content and tools are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, HOV Law disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and does not promise that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

We may change, update, or remove content at any time without notice, and the Site may contain errors or outdated information. Your use of the Site is at your own risk.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HOV Law and its attorneys, employees, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site, its tools, or any linked website, even if we were advised of the possibility of such damages.

This section does not limit any liability that cannot be limited by law, and it does not apply to the legal services we provide under a signed engagement agreement, which that agreement governs.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless HOV Law and its attorneys, employees, and agents from claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these Terms or the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, Florida, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. The Site is operated from the United States and is intended for use in the United States.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and HOV Law about your use of the Site. They do not replace or modify any engagement agreement between HOV Law and a client. If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
